We took a group of 21 pupils from Year 8 to Year 13 who were spread across the 3 festival ensembles. The 3 days were packed with rehearsals and a trip to a local theme park. The festival culminated in a wonderful showcase concert on the Friday afternoon with parents in attendance. The concert was also live streamed and can be watched by following this link https://www.youtube.com/live/jxFoQSpvVac
Pupil perspective
“The SAIK Music Festival this year was one of the best music trips that I have personally had the pleasure of attending. Travelling to Jeddah went extremely smoothly. On the way back to Khobar we stopped in the airport at Pizza Express which was amazing and extremely fun after the concert. Our concert pieces were all very good and fun to play. Personally “How to Train Your Dragon” was my favorite piece to play and rehearsals were very enjoyable to attend. It was amazing to be a part of a huge ensemble of all kinds of instruments. During the trip we also went to a theme park where we went on rides and purchased ice cream and slushies which was a very fun experience. I felt the concert went extremely well and all our hard work practising more than paid off. As this is my final year attending SAIK, I can honestly say it was one of the best trips I have been on and I wish I could do it all again.”
