Year 4 were transported back thousands of years as part of their new English unit, Time-Slip Scarab. Pupils entered the classroom through a tunnel that led into a recreated Ancient Egyptian tomb, complete with sand, artefacts and mysterious smells.

Once inside, they explored using torches, collecting sensory words to describe what they could see, hear, and feel. There was a real buzz of excitement as pupils whispered discoveries to each other, describing glowing scarabs, crumbling walls and the heavy scent of cinnamon and incense.
